Miss Autopsy
10-23-08: I know this has nothing to do with anything, but this really inspired me.
Every few months or so I feel the need to write something about what I’m doing, to do a state-of-the-band-that’s-not-really-a-band sort of thing. So what’s new? The Hill’s been out for a few months now. Some European publications have said some really nice things about it, which I appreciate. I’ve never played a show there. I don’t think you can even buy it there. I’ve never even been over there. Hopefully I’ll get to sometime soon. In the US nobody knows the record exists. I’d like to say that I don’t care if anybody likes what I do, that I just try to make strong art and not care about the rest, but every artist wants some sort of an audience, so it is a little disappointing. I don’t lose sleep over it, though. I do lose sleep over other things. I haven’t played many shows. They’re not the easiest things to get. But this weekend (Oct. 26/27) I’m playing a couple, one in Bloomington, IN, and one in Lansing, MI.
I have a fourth record that has been recorded and mastered. Still have to do the artwork and other stuff. The last two years of my life have been my most bi-polar, and all I can say about any record is “these were the moods I explored and the ideas I worked on from ____ to _____.” Except I never remember exactly when I started and stopped. Anyways, it will be called Caterpillar. Look for it early-to-mid-to-late 2009. Or early-to-mid-to-late 2010. Or I’ll just tell you when it comes out.
